Stay in Touch with Friends

Posted under Thoughts

Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Just something to think about especially for the workaholics out there. I remember how fun it was and how happy I was to finally have reconnected with some of my old friends from way back more than twenty years go. (Okay don’t think I am that old.) It is best to note though the importance of staying in touch and keeping the communications lines open between old, sincere and caring friends who you can count on when you need them most, other than your family of course.

Flip Video

Posted under Info, Tech Stuff

I found this Flip Video MinoHD which was described as the world’s sleekest HD camcorder. I remember one of our friends was looking for this a few months ago for its slim, sleek design which easily fits in any pocket or purse. I you happen to be looking for and shopping for your first high-definition DVD camcorder or looking to upgrade your current camcorder, there are many other choices that you can easily find on online stores these days.

I can make use of this to capture precious moments in my little boy’s daily life. He easily notices our red video camcorder. I think with this, I can still hide it without him easily noticing that I am already recording what he is doing. There are precious moments that happen spontaneously every day and I want to capture them on video as he grows. Like him singing a song, dancing perhaps or saying something for the very first time. You know for a mom like me, pictures are not enough. Those videos of him doing something precious for me would be a treasure to watch and cherish when he is older.

This flip video can record and capture two hours or 120 minutes of HD video on an 8GB built-in memory. It does have a simple user interface. Easy to use plus it is a convenient flip-out USB. This is good for shooting video on the go and capture for life those precious moments.

Let’s Run

Posted under Fitness, Health

Let’s run they say! I wish I can still run as much as I used to but I think I better start walking first before running. As a sport or hubby, one can get a lot of benefits from running like it burns calories, improves the cardiovascular system and increases the circulation of blood in your body. I may not have been a runner but I can walk long distances.

For me, I now have to consider if I can still run since it is a high impact exercise and I think health-wise I need low-impact exercises for now. But I always wish to be able to run not just for exercise but it would be a fun activity to do with the little boy and hubby on weekends.

Life Matters

Posted under Finance, Info

Life matters as what one of those ads I have know before plus there is another one that says protect your dreams. So if you think life does matter and you want to protect your dreams, it says insure it and protect your life with those various kinds of life insurance available to all now like the term life insurance, as well as the whole, universal, special, special purpose, business, special risk plus many other types of life insurances under those. I didn’t know there were so many types and kinds of insurance but I think that shows how much people take life matters seriously in terms of insuring it.

Getting insurance quotes and rates these days is easy and can be done online compared to years before. It facilitates ease and no more waiting for a long time to know which among these policies would give you the best benefits. Life matters indeed so don’t take it for granted.

Starbucks Waterbottle

Posted under Shopping, Starbucks

According to Starbucks this is something for the kids out there who love Starbucks and this also great even for those kids once and the kids at heart. This is the Starbucks 12 oz. stainless steel single wall waterbottle which is covered with colorful sea creatures and comes with a flip mouth piece. This one is being sold for P695.

Quite expensive I might say but if you and your kids love Starbucks, then this is still worth your money and your heart’s delight. I was really attracted to color and I was looking for a new water bottle for the lil boy to bring and use in school. I remember seeing this a couple of months before. I am going to check on this if and when we could get to go to a Starbucks outlet when we travel soon. Read the rest of this entry »

Vacation Rentals – How to Avoid Being SNAD

Posted under Info, Travel

According to a survey, many Americans quoted SNAD as the number one reason for not booking vacation rentals. SNAD stands for “Significantly Not As Described”. In travel industry, it represents the phenomenon where a property looks good only in its pictures. It is an unfortunate occurrence and completely ruins the holiday. According to many observer of the tourism industry, SNAD is a major hindrance in the growth of the industry.

When it comes to vacation rentals, there are two major types of SNAD. The most common one is known as property SNAD. In it, the property is anything but the pictures posted in the advertisement. There is no white cabin nestled amongst the green fields or the hut beside the beach. Instead, there are leaky roofs and small cramped room. If there is a family involved, it worsens the situation because of lack of room and the hassle of finding another place to stay. The other and minor form of SNAD takes the form of inadequate amenities. Many listing are advertised as being near to a particular landmark. In reality, it takes forever to visit the place.

MM Time

Posted under Manic Monday

What are the values you cherish even though they may run counter to societal values? ::: I cherish family values like love and respect for my parents and supporting family members when they need help most of all.

Mondays make me ::: lazy sometimes but I still try hard and want to start the week productive and end it with lots of finished tasks and chores before the weekend. Plus Mondays also makes me wish it’s weekend all over again! :)

If you were to publish a book about yourself, what would you title it? ::: Lessons I Learned Being a Mom, Wife and Daughter.

Happy Monday everyone!!! :)
