Rabbit Hole

Rabbit Hole is a movie I saw today and it somehow made me cry. Tears just flowed down from my eyes maybe as a mother myself, I could somehow feel how hard it will be to lose your young son. I have a son too and am praying each day to the Lord for his good health and protection at all times.

The movie stars Nicole Kidman who plays the role of Becca, a stay at home mom who lost her young son and only child to an accident where he got killed by a teenage driver. She once again saw that teenager one day riding on a school bus which she followed every day on his way home since then until one day they met at the library.

My question would be would you as a mother who loses her son in an accident caused by that teenage driver befriend him? I don’t know. But maybe each of us has our own way of coping with a great loss of a dear loved one such as her only son. Becca was starting to let go even of his son’s stuff and clothes while her husband was still holding on to memories even wanting that dog that their son was running after towards the street that led to the accident.

All I know is that I never want to know how it actually feels to lose young only son so hug, kiss, tell  and show your sons  as often as you can, how much you love them and cherish them as blessings from God. Even just writing this now made tears flow down my eyes. I feel as a mother and I have friends who lost their only child. I pray for them.

Ob the lighter side, it’s interesting to find Sandra Oh of Grey’s Anatomy in this movie. Dianne Wiest and Aaron Eckhart are also in this movie. Nicole though didn’t get nominated for the Oscars for this movie.
