New LCD Monitor

Last week while we were looking for a new LCD monitor to replace that of hubby’s which finally died on him after about four years of use. I tried online window shopping at best buy which has special promos on their weekly deals plus they offer free shipping too which I hope we are eligible of. So far they still don’t have the 19″ LCD monitor among their weekly deals. We tried to wait longer but then a few days later we were able to find it here and so we got a new one. Hubby needs a new monitor as soon as possible so we need not wait for each other to finish using the laptop before wecan do what we have to do online.

Mother’s Day Gift: iPod Touch 32GB

Hubby let me get a gift for myself and as much as I wanted an iPhone or an iPad which costs so much more than the one I bought and that is an iPod Touch much of an influence of an online friend of mine during her recent visit here. Hubby told me to get the iPod Touch 32GB instead of the 16GB I was originally planning to buy and am glad I followed his advice. We bought this at the iCenter and didn’t regret it. The lil boy though discovered it Friday a week before and has not let go of it since. He wakes up and sleeps using this watching Dora, Shrek, Mickey Mouse which has been his fave for a few days now and other Disney animated movies in it. Hubby have just uploaded free educational games for the lil boy yesterday afternoon through iTunes and the lil boy was so excited choosing the games he want. We just got the free ones for now and think about buying later the ones that are not free.

We are amazed at how the lil boy got so techie in just a few days. He uses it well and we hope he would be able to use it well to help him learn. I am happy we could use this to help him learn the alphabet, spelling, identifying shapes, and before he slept last night he was playing the piano Virtuoso app in it. I wish I can teach him and I hope this would open up a passion for music and playing musical instruments for him as well. I like the sound of the piano in it. When he dozed off to sleep, I started playing it and loved it. Will find a tutorial on how to play the piano using it.

I’d like to put e-books into it but with the lil boy using almost all the time for now, I’d just put that in my to do list. A lot more to explore but I have been busy with hubby’s medical emergency and since we came home from the hospital we have just been taking it slow and trying to rest at home. For now am happy the lil boy is learning atthe same time as he has fun using this gift I now have for him as a mother which I originally got for myself as a mother’s day gift. As long as the boys are happy, I am happy with my heart’s delight as well! By the way, the lil boy calls this toy “Apple”!

Mobile Lifestyle

These days many people go for the mobile lifestyle and  since many places offer free WiFi these days, you can access the internet almost anywhere these days. The biggest mall we have so far in the city has started offering free WiFi a few months back and so when you go there, you’d see a growing number of people bringing on their laptops browsing and surfing the internet while taking a break from malling or for others they just wanna do their surfing there and it’s free anyway.

More and more teens are seen using the latest laptops. Lucky teens they are coz during my time we don’t have these gadgets to bring to school. For parents too they can still afford to get their children a good laptop which they could use in school using laptop deals such as those one can find online. It is a lot cheaper and available at discounted prices. You can easily find a laptop based on price range, brand, processor manufacturer, hard drive and memory range as well as choice of OS. My own laptop turned a year old last week and I somehow wanted to upgrade but until I find a good deal on laptop then maybe just maybe, hubby will grant my wish to my heart’s delight with these red HP laptop that caught my eye recently. He was telling me earlier that he might buy me something that will allow me to have a mobile lifestyle.

Pink DigiCam

I heart our DSLR but lately I have been wishing for a new P&S camera since it is smaller, lighter and easier to carry around. I have been looking at the digital cameras at the site where a friend of mine got her new Canon digital camera. I have been looking for a 14 megapixel digital camera and looking at the digital camera buying guide for tips and reviews.

This pink Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS 14 Megapixel Digital Camera with 5x Optical Zoom, 3.5″ LCD, 22mm Wide-Angle Lens, HD Movie and Image Stabilizer is something I’m interested in right now. Aside from being pink, it’s 14 megapixels compared to our 10.2 SLR and it’s cheaper compared to how much we bought our SLR. There are other options to consider though among the popular ones there. Cost for now is one concern. I don’t wanna buy something so expensive. Maybe I can wait and save for a little longer. Maybe the price will go down and it might be offered with more discount so we could avail of more savings. I may be able to find another digital cam not necessarily pink but performs as close if not better than our DSLR.

I tell you this is only good for movies coz the signal of the cable and local TV reception here is still analog which is not compatible with this digital TV. I almost cried when I found out that our TV viewing will be dominated with seeing “bees” on the big screen when all I thought that I would have a much better time watching the news at CNN, movies and other TV shows. Good thing our smaller 21″ Samsung TV is still working and showing which is better for TV viewing!
